Disciplinary actions in school

Watching the news yesterday my jaw dropped. They’re bringing paddling back in Georgia schools and they’ve supposedly already started in Texas schools. I remember my grandmother telling me back in her day they used to hit the children with rulers if they misbehaved or make them sit in the corner with a Dunce cap on. I thought it was absurd back then and I still feel the same now that I am an adult with my own children. Hitting a child never solves anything and to even think that it’s okay to hit someone else’s child is ridiculous. There are so many other ways to discipline a child without using your hands or weapons. How do you feel? What are your thoughts on the topic?
